Casitas

Our casitas were once workers' dormitories. You can still see the wooden hammock bollards that have been left embedded in the walls. One building was also once used as a village school.

Now the casitas have been completely restored. Dzalbay, named after a local peacock-like bird, has a bright bedroom with a double bed. The large sitting room has two additional single beds which can also serve as couches. Flor de Mayo, named after the "flower of May" tree in the backyard, is a slightly smaller house, but it also has a large room with a double bed and two single beds.

Both casitas have spacious new bathrooms with tiled showers, their own terraces, gardens and views of the undeveloped hectares of the hacienda. The casitas are furnished with wrought iron beds, locally made twig furniture, antique wardrobes, ceiling and floor fans, renovated wooden doors with screened windows, artwork from Alberto Castillo (an artist from Merida) and, of course, hammocks!

The casitas are located side by side across from the Casa de Maquinas.
